Visual Anthropologist and Ethnographic Researcher | Exploring Activism Through Multimodal Methods

Daisy Moncrief is a visual anthropologist and researcher working at the intersection of everyday activism, material culture, and collaborative storytelling. Currently completing her Master’s degree in Visual Anthropology at Münster University, her work explores how grassroots movements, feminist collectives, and diasporic communities sustain resistance and build solidarity across borders.

Guided by tactile and sensory ethnography, Daisy weaves photography, audio recording, and film into her fieldwork. Her research is deeply tied to public engagement; most recently reflected in Körper im Widerstand, a photography and sound exhibition she curated in Münster in March 2025.

Beyond her research, Daisy is an active participant in European documentary film culture. She has engaged with festivals including the Berlinale, IDFA, LIFF, and the Göttingen International Ethnographic Film Festival, and was selected for the CPH:DOX Academy in Denmark; a talent development program bringing together emerging directors and researchers for masterclasses, seminars, and collaborative exchanges.

Her background also includes hands-on experience in independent cinema administration. During her internship at Kommunales Kino in Freiburg, she managed the cinema's social media presence and visual identity, while coordinating event logistics and supporting local, community-driven cultural initiatives.
