Trans Pride March
Brighton, England
19th July 2025
Inaugurated in 2013 as the first dedicated trans pride event in the United Kingdom, Trans Pride Brighton has expanded from a modest gathering into a major national demonstration, drawing over 40,000 participants annually. The photographic documentation captures public assembly and street activism amidst growing political scrutiny over trans rights across the country.
Key demands within the British trans rights movement focus on systemic healthcare delays, where waiting lists for first appointments at NHS Gender Identity Clinics frequently extend beyond five years. Activists also advocate for legal reform of the Gender Recognition Act 2004 to replace burdensome medicalised panels with self-determination, alongside challenging restrictions surrounding healthcare access and legal gender recognition.
