The death of Jina Mahsa Amini in September 2022 sparked the largest feminist uprising in Iran since 1979. Images of women removing their hijabs, cutting their hair, and confronting state authority circulated globally through social media. While much attention focused on events inside Iran, this research examines another dimension of the movement: the role of activists in the diaspora.
